We're currently working with one of the UKs leading supply chain groups who have doubled in size from £70m to £140m over the past 18 months. Due to this growth and with there being a number of acquisitions on the horizon they are looking to strengthen their existing finance team with a Reporting Management Accountant.
This is a dynamic role within a fast-paced environment and would suit an experienced, adaptable, technically brilliant accountant who is looking for an opportunity to influence strategic business decision making and have a tangible impact on shaping a fast-growing group.
Responsibilities will include:
Support the GFC with the preparation of Monthly Management Accounts and value added reporting including detailed variance analysis of Monthly results to Forecast, Budget and Prior year with full Commentary on variances giving complete insight into what is driving the variance.
Responsible for the supervision of two junior accountants
Specific responsibility for central departments – Finance, HR, IT, Admin & Establishment costs, including preparation and review of monthly Department P&Ls with stakeholders
Support the GFC in the preparation of budgets and regular forecasts
Cash flow preparation and forecasting
Review and posting of the monthly payroll journal and analyses vs budget
Completion of the quarterly VAT return
Responsibility for the whole process, accuracy and competition of balance sheet reconciliations in a timely manner
Assisting the GFC in preparation of the statutory accounts
Project work as required
Pro-actively driving ad hoc commercial analysis to help focus activity and identify potential cost savings and value for money, making recommendations for improvements where necessary
Promotion of cost awareness and cost control culture, ensuring sign-off and authorisation procedures are strictly adhered to
Understanding company, competitors and industry
Requirements:
ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualified or Part Qualified
Cash flow management & forecasting experience.
Strong management skills, proven experience developing a team and driving performances
Strong communication skills - able to business partner effectively
Adaptable - able to continuously improve processes and spot opportunities for improvement
Microsoft Dynamics/365 experience would be highly beneficial but not essential
Benefits:
