We're currently working with one of the UKs leading supply chain groups who, due to growth and a number of recent acquisitions, are looking to strengthen their existing finance team with a Finance Business Partner / Operations Management Accountant.
This is a dynamic role within a fast-paced environment and would suit an experienced, adaptable accountant who is looking for an opportunity to influence strategic business decision making and have a tangible impact on shaping a fast-growing group.
Responsibilities will include:
Full responsibility for all Operations related accounts, primarily Stock, COGS, Logistics, Warehouse Admin and Establishment costs
Business Partner to the Operations Director and the warehouse, logistics & inventory teams
Preparation and review of accounts for stock & cost of sales (Flash and Final)
Detailed variance analysis of monthly results to Budget and Prior year, with full commentary on variances giving complete insight into what is driving the variances
Preparation of monthly commentaries to the Group Financial Controller
Preparation of the monthly department P&Ls and variances for discussion with the Operations Director
Weekly updates to the Operations Director on spend to date vs budgets & forecasts & vs activity
Ownership and reconciliation of the accounts with the logistics suppliers
Preparation of budgets and regular forecasts, including assisting in construction of the annual stock and cost budget
Working alongside transactions services – particularly purchase ledger and providing assistance with the reconciliation of the more complex accounts, and the GRNI account.
Assistance in preparation of the statutory accounts with the Grou Financial Controller
Pro-actively driving ad hoc commercial analysis to help focus activity and identify potential cost savings and value for money, making recommendations for improvements where necessary.
Requirements:
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified preferred
Stock or Logistics experience preferred
Strong communication skills with the ability to business partner effectively
Adaptable - able to continuously improve processes and spot opportunities for improvement
Microsoft Dynamics/365 experience would be highly beneficial but not essential
Advanced Excel experience
