Excellent opportunity for a Financial Controller to join an £10m t/o well established, engineering business based on the outskirts of Liverpool. Reporting directly to the Part time FD and MD this is a hands-on No 1 in Finance role, managing a team of 4 Accounts Assistants, and with the remit of developing and modernising all aspects of financial and management accounting across the business. Duties will include:
- Development of a modern and effective Divisional and Consolidated Management/financial accounting structure
- Development of a modern and sophisticated Management Information/KPI pack to provide timely, full visibility across the business and its operations.
- Development of robust financial controls and processes.
- Business Partnering with the board and senior management team
- Budgeting & forecasting
- Profit & Loss and variance analysis
- Annual Statutory Accounts
- Tax comp preparation
- VAT Returns
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Sales & margin analysis
- Fixed Assets
- Bank Reconciliation
- Cash Management
- Dealing with escalated Credit Control issues
Applicants will ideally be fully qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA although applicants who are not qualified but have previously operated at this level will also be considered as the FD and MD consider skills, experience and personality fit to be the most importance factors. You will be skilled across most if not all of the details outlined in the above breakdown of duties and will be a proven Financial Controller or a Management or Financial Accountant ready to make the step. You will have excellent communication and relationship building skills and a proven ability of being able to business partner with non-finance budget holders and senior management.
