Howarth Morris are looking to recruit an experienced Management Accountant for a family-owned £30m+ t/o Engineering business, part of an international group, based in Warrington. Reporting to the Financial Controller and managing a small team across AP and AR. This is a key hire for the business and one that will play a pivotal role providing detailed and insightful monthly management accounts, whilst being instrumental in bringing fresh ideas and identifying areas for improvement in existing processes. This is an initial 12 month contract to cover maternity but there is potential to made permanent should the successful candidate impress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate and timely preparation of month/annual management accounts
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis
  • Preparation of weekly & monthly reporting including P&L /Balance sheet
  • Posting of month end journals, prepayments and accruals
  • Assist in the completion of the annual budget and reforecasts
  • Variance Analysis with full commentary
  • Approving and processing payment runs
  • Intercompany transactions / reconciliations
  • Quarterly VAT Returns
  • Manage small monthly Payroll
  • Project work as directed by the FC
  • Preparation of audit schedules for annual external audit
  • Ad hoc work as driven by company requirements

Candidate Requirements

  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA Qualified, Part Qualified or QBE
  • Full end to end Management accounts experience
  • Systems/Process improvement experience
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Advanced Excel/IT Skills
