Group Financial Accountant/Finance Manager

Job Description

This is a rare an exciting career opportunity for a Qualified Group Financial Accountant/Finance Manager - to join an impressive £200m+ t/o manufacturing/retail/Distribution business based on the outskirts of Skelmersdale. Reporting directly to the Group Finance Director you will operated in a broad group financial accounting role which will expand to include staff management in 12-18 months, or sooner depending in the skills and profile of the successful applicant. Operating in this high profile, highly visible role, Your duties will include:

  • Working to develop more modern and sophisticated financial reporting
  • Group consolidation (6 entities)
  • Working to develop best practice, controls, processes and procedures
  • Capex Control
  • Systems development / utilisation (including Business Objects)
  • Annual Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Financial Accounting
  • VAT
  • Corporation Tax
  • Finance Business Partnering with all Budget Holders
  • First point of contact for the auditors
  • Additional duties dependent on the skills and level of the successful applicant and as the role develops

Applicants must be fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA finance professionals and will have ideally previously operated in a Financial Accounting role for a large, fast paced, multi-site business. You will have broad financial accounting skills and the gravitas and personality required to forge strong relationships with Operation teams and stakeholders at all levels to board level. First or second time over Big 4 or top 10 trained ACA or ACCAs will be of particular interest but this is not essential. A competitive salary - envisaged £40-45k - is complemented with benefits including Company Car, 6% Pension, 25 days holiday and the opportunity to develop and take on more responsibility in time.
